Welcome to Foster City

In 1958, real-estate mogul T. Jack Foster came out of retirement and bought four square miles of land to build a “new city” with Bay Area business magnate Richard Grant. Foster City was created because of Foster’s idea to create something beautiful out of what was once just a barren, marsh-filled island.

Waterfront Real-Estate

Foster City has continuously thrived with its mix of award-winning homes situated in neighborhoods that are resplendent with lush trees and greenery, a beautiful blue lagoon and lovely canals.

Properties consist of single-family homes and condominium and townhome waterfront communities with stunning waterway and lagoon views, while others have private pools, trails, beach access and clubhouses, providing residents with not just a resort-like atmosphere, but endless leisure activities as well.

Land and Water Pursuits

Because Foster City is a man-made island with 16+ miles of waterways, water activities are popular among residents. The lagoon is a water playground as it plays host to boating, swimming, fishing, paddle boarding, kayaking, water skiing, sailing and windsurfing activities.  Some sites will even offer rentals and lessons for residents and guests.

Foster City is packed with parks, in fact, it has more parks per capita than any other city in California. It is home to 21 parks with a few more currently in the works. They provide a plethora of excellent facilities for soccer, baseball, tennis, picnics, skateboarding, golf and dog rungs. And with many miles of flat trails along with green grass, hikers, bikers and skaters will never run out of recreation space.

Aside from its wide selection of parks, Foster City is also known as one of the few places around San Francisco Bay where one can find serene and sheltered beaches.  Marlin Park, Gull Park, and Parkside Aquatic Park offer nice and calm sandy beaches the entire family can enjoy.

Safety and Security

Foster City made it to Safewise’s “The 50 Safest Cities in California -2016” list. The city boasts a highly efficient and well-staffed Police force with water police constantly guarding the city.
